The DvRigPro from Israel's Dvtec (www.dvtec.tv) is a camera stabilizer combining a shoulder mount with a novel spring-loaded body pod. The result is a stable camera floating
hands-free in front of the shooter. The shoulder mount and twin handgrips give shooters a stable grip while the springy body
pod floats the camera with minimal body-generated vibration. While it's not as smooth as a Steadicam for moderate to fast
motion, it is quite a bit easier to use, and I'd rather use the DvRigPro for handheld lockdowns: the floating horizons that
one often seen in Steadicam work are avoided by the DvRigPro's firmer attachment to the body. It's one of those "why didn't
someone think of this before" solutions to what has been a common problem.
